I will sincerely miss this man! He was such a perfect example of how a man, brother, son, father and husband should be. I think the thing I will miss most is his sense of humor. One of my favorite things he talked about were the "be's". If we all followed them, we would be a much happier people.

Did I say Lucky?

What was I thinking with my last post? Okay, okay, I know that I am lucky. But am I the only one that thinks that the line between funny and fiasco is sometimes very thin. Case in point: After picking Paige up from school this afternoon, I decide to run to Walmart to pick up some groceries. Well, normally, if I take all three kids I can guarantee that I will be a big grump before I leave the store. (Okay, let's face it. I am a grump 30 seconds into the experience.) So, we make it through with minimal damage and as we are leaving the store after checking out Caleb announces that he has to go potty. So, here I am with Lily in the carseat and a cart full of paid-for groceries. So, I make a hasty decision. I have Paige take him in for me while I wait just outside the door with the groceries and baby. After a couple of minutes, they both come out. Paige explains that Caleb won't go for her. So, I proceed to tell Caleb that he will have to wait until we get home. He just says, "awight..I go hewe." So once again, about five minutes later, out walks Paige, announcing to the world that she has had an accident. (I thought Caleb was the one going potty in this story.) And close behind her is my naked son. Yep, you heard right. Well, I guess technically he would've had to have his shirt off to be naked, but from the waist down....NAKED! He is holding his shoes, pants and underwear and crying that he is "scared." I frantically tell Paige to stand by Lily and sneak around the corner and quickly dress my son. Needless to say, I dart out of there quicker than you can say white trash. Like I said: a fine line between funny and fiasco. Lucky for my kids it was a majority funny....

How Lucky am I?

I have just been thinking lately how lucky I am to be able to stay at home with my kids. Lily is 13 weeks and I would have already been back to work if I had a job. She is my first baby that I haven't had to dump in daycare at this age. I was sooo blessed to have a wonderful daycare provider for Paige and Caleb, but it still is no substitute for me, their Mommy. Although money is tight, I would NEVER trade being able to take Paige to/from school, go to the park and library with Caleb and be the one to see all of Lily's "1sts". I feel such compassion and understanding for those mothers out there that wish they could stay home, but are unable to for various reasons. That was me at one time. I pray that I am able to continue to be home and watch the most amazing kids everyday. Because I love it. I am so lucky!

I realize that I have two other children. I feel obligated to give them some of the spotlight, too. Sorry about the two sideways ones. I tried and tried to flip them, to no avail. Notice that Paige is still toothless. Seems that Santa didn't grant the two front teeth wish....

Blessing our Lily

We blessed Lily on December 30th. My Mom, Dad and Ang were still here. Rob's sister Lindsey and family were in town too, so we wanted to take advantage of everyone being around to participate in the blessing. Rob's blessing was sweet and Lily was an angel. I can't even imagine not having Lily in our family. She is such a great baby and I can't wait to see her grow up. (Not too fast, though)

We are alive and well

Okay~So I've been a slacker. I promise to do better this year posting on the blog. Things have been busy. Christmas was great! My Mom, Dad and older sister Ang drove down from Utah and were here on Christmas night. We got to have another Christmas, opening all of the presents from family again that night. It was crazy! My kids no longer look forward to Santa's gifts. They just wonder when the jeep full of presents will get here.
